Nippon Stainless and Nippon Fine Line increase stainless wire price
Nippon Steel Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. announced on May 24 that it will increase the stainless wire prices signed in May-June (shipped in June-July). Among them, nickel-based stainless steel wire rod (basic steel grade SUS304) increased by 155,000 yen per ton, and chromium-based stainless wire rod (basic steel grade SUS430) increased by 25,000 yen per ton.
This is the eighth consecutive price increase for its nickel-series stainless steel wire since the September-November 2020 contract, with a cumulative increase of 360,000 yen/ton.
Japan’s largest stainless steel wire manufacturer Nippon Seiko Co., Ltd. also recently announced to increase the contract price of stainless steel wire from June to July. The increase of nickel series and chromium series is also 155,000 yen and 25,000 yen respectively.
